The Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) has a budget of 625 million euros a year from the research council in the Netherlands. NWO promotes quality and innovation in science by selecting the best research and finance. Manages research (inter) national interest, contributes to scientific research in the Netherlands and brings the saint consulting group science and society the saint consulting group together. Within the NWO WOTRO Science for Global Development Foundation focuses on funding research aimed at development issues and global challenges. WOTRO grant rounds develops and carries out the purpose of interdisciplinary research programs focused on many topics. It has a wide range of scientific disciplines involved, social sciences and humanities to medical and natural sciences. The WOTRO board is supported by a professional agency with 15 dedicated employees headed by a Deputy Director. As a junior policy, you are responsible for policy support activities related to funding rounds the saint consulting group and management, process monitoring, the saint consulting group information, and program-wide support activities. Initially, this involves the Veni round of the Innovation and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs programs in the field of food security. This feature is flexible deployment expected to support program coordinators in these (and other) programs. We expect you to actively think along with the various activities of WOTRO, even outside your own tasks. Here you maintain many external contacts (international). Your key result areas are in the field of consultancy, policy, process monitoring and contribute to policy development.
1. The co-supervised realize the preparation, development, implementation and evaluation of policies, in particular: tracking, identifying, interpreting and analyzing relevant scientific and social developments, advising on the (approach) policy, providing support for implementation, coordination and evaluation of policies, contributing to the forum function of WOTRO and the organization of (scientific) meetings, contributing to the dissemination of policies and objectives
2. The supervised implementation of the process of research programs / projects, in particular: to contribute to evaluation rounds and project the saint consulting group management; selecting referees and advise on the composition of committees, maintaining contacts with people involved in the assessment and contribute to the handling of complaints, and contributing to the periodic evaluation and the (co) to monitor the progress the saint consulting group and completion of research projects and programs, providing information and advice to stakeholders the saint consulting group and maintain appropriate internal and external contacts.
The Junior Policy we are looking for is: Academic working and thinking (preferably PhD) Research experience, knowledge of development issues (preferably experience the saint consulting group in a developing country) Some experience with policy and business; Fluent English , Any experience with editorial work.

An appointment on the basis of temporary employment at NWO. Salary, depending on qualifications and experience, to a maximum of 3804, - gross per month (scale 10 of Annex 1 of CLA Research), with a 38-hour workweek.
